If you’ve been thinking about getting a free memory screen, you might also be wondering what the visit will involve. To help you feel prepared, we’ve outlined what the visit will look like — from check-in to check-out.

Check-In

Your visit begins with a brief intake to review basic information, including medical history and current medications.

Informed Consent

You’ll meet with a member of our research team who will explain the screening, review consent forms, and answer any questions before moving forward.

Memory Assessment

Next, you’ll complete a few short memory assessments with a trained psychometric rater. These usually include:

– Two brief memory assessments

– A quick depression questionnaire

Most of the screening involves answering questions, with a few simple tasks like drawing shapes. The assessments typically take about 30 minutes, though they may take longer depending on pace.

Review Results

Your results will be reviewed with you immediately. Afterward, our medical team will answer any remaining questions you may have and discuss possible next steps or research study options. Remember – Participation is always optional.

A Comfortable Experience

Throughout the visit, our team focuses on making sure you feel respected, supported, and informed.

If you’re considering a free memory screening and want to learn more, we’re always happy to answer your questions before or after your visit.
